Beck and Call is inspired by a poem written by Dudley Cato and adapted into song by Michael Cato.
It explores the challenge of hearing God’s voice through the constant noise and distractions of everyday life.
The song reflects on the comfort of knowing that every prayer, whisper and struggle is heard.
Even in moments of chaos, God’s presence remains close and His voice can still be found in the silence.
At its heart is a prayer not only to be heard by God, but to be ready to hear Him in return.
It speaks of responding willingly when He calls, regardless of where that calling may lead.
“Here I am” becomes a declaration of faith, readiness and complete surrender.
Beck and Call is ultimately a prayer to remain attentive, willing and always ready when God calls your name.

Inspired by the poem by Dudley Cato

As I tuned out distracting sounds Reverberations that bound me I found the magnitude Of Your astounding lovingkindness Surrounding me
Through the noise of life around me Through the echoes of the day I discovered in the silence You were never far away

When I call, Lord, You hear me Every whisper, every fall In the midst of all the chaos You still listen through it all

Lord, let me be at Your beck and call When You whisper my name, I’ll give You my all Through the noise of this world Through the rise and the fall Lord, let me be at Your beck and call
Lord, let me hear Your voice above it all Never turning away when I hear You call Through the valleys and mountains Whatever may befall Lord, let me be at Your beck and call

I know through the noise And earthly voices My call rings clear as a tinkling bell You attentively listen To all I have to say And tell
No prayer is ever wasted No tear falls unseen You are present in the struggle Closer than You’ve ever seemed

Lord, I pray that I would Just as readily respond When You mention my name May my heart remain strong
When You mention my name It shall not on deaf ears fall Here I am, Lord, here I am At Your beck and call

Lord, let me be at Your beck and call When You whisper my name, I’ll give You my all Through the noise of this world Through the rise and the fall Lord, let me be at Your beck and call
Here I am, Lord Here I stand Ready and willing At Your command
Lord, let me be At Your beck and call

When You mention my name It shall not on deaf ears fall
Here I am, Lord…
At Your beck and call.
